Delete Your Data

Your data lives on your device

Steward is local-first. Your tasks, routines, energy logs, and personal information are stored in a local database on your device — not on our servers. We don't have access to it, and we can't see it. If you remove the app, that data goes with it.

How to delete your local data

iOS

Delete the Steward app from your device. This removes all locally stored data. Press and hold the app icon, tap "Remove App," then tap "Delete App" to confirm.

Android

You have two options:

  • Uninstall the app — removes the app and all its data.
  • Clear app data — go to Settings > Apps > Steward > Storage > Clear Data. This removes your data but keeps the app installed.

Active subscriptions

Important: Deleting the app or clearing app data does not cancel any active subscriptions. If you have a Steward AI or BYOK subscription, you'll need to cancel it separately to avoid being charged:

  • iOS: Open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Steward → Cancel Subscription.
  • Android: Open Google Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Steward → Cancel subscription.

Cancelling a subscription stops future charges. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period. One-time purchases (Steward Core) are permanent and do not need to be cancelled.

Server-side data

Steward holds very little data on our end. Here's what exists and how to handle it:

Waitlist email

If you joined our waitlist, your email address is stored by Buttondown, our email provider. You can unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any email we send, or email us and we'll remove it for you.

AI relay

If you use Steward's default AI features, your prompts are forwarded through our relay to the AI provider and then discarded. We do not store, log, or retain any AI conversation data. There is nothing to delete.

If you use your own API key (BYOK), your requests go directly to the AI provider and never touch our servers at all.

Purchase data

If you made a purchase or subscription, anonymous transaction data is held by RevenueCat (our subscription management provider) and by Apple or Google (who process your payments). This data is linked to an anonymous ID, not your personal identity. If you'd like RevenueCat to delete your anonymous purchase record, contact us and we'll handle the request on your behalf.

Request deletion

If you'd like us to confirm deletion of any data we hold, or if you have questions about what's stored, email [email protected]. We'll aim to process your request within 30 days.

For more details on how we handle your information, see our privacy policy.
